Cops trail Craigslist ads to sex offenders:
This is an article from The Tennessean about craigslist prostitution on their area. Nothing new that hasn't been covered before. But once again craigslist is paying nothing but lip service to the actual problem. Once again let's hear from craigslist's mouthpiece Susan MacTavish Best.
Susan MacTavish Best, a Craigslist spokeswoman, says the misuse of the site for illegal purposes is unacceptable and that a series of new measures is being undertaken to reduce the number of erotic services ads by at least 80 percent.
"Unlike the weekly newspapers, telephone yellow pages and numerous websites large and small that make a profitable business out of 'erotic services' ads," she wrote in an e-mail, "Craigslist earns no revenue whatsoever from such ads."
Again I say if it's so unacceptable to craigslist why don't they do away with the erotic services section? Personally I think that newspapers and phone books shouldn't be advertising for hookers either but at least with those mediums a paper trail is left if an investigation is warranted. A paper trail is a lot easier to follow than an electronic one. Out of all the times that you claim to assist law enforcement how many illegal acts on craigslist have gone unchecked? It's almost like craigslist is proud of the fact that they help facilitate prostitution and child prostitution.
The fact that they claim they have no responsibility in such matters is a joke.

Craigslist prostitution sting nets 8 arrests:

Police in Rockford, Illinois have arrested 8 more in one of their craigslist hooker sweeps.

Arrested on charges of prostitution were: Jamie Brook Arnold, 32; Stacey Lynn Stegall, 19; Danielle Marie Stegall, 25; Melena Marie LaSalvia, 26; Caprisha Nicole Wills, 26; Victoria Ashley Hughes, 17; and Ashley Lynn Treppish, 19.
Anthony Demetrius Bondurant, 43, was arrested on a charge of pandering and possession of marijuana.
This is the second big hooker bust from Rockford featured on this site.

Heather Trujillo avoids prison in "Mortal Kombat" death of half-sister:
I know I've been jumping around from site to site with this story so I apologize.
Anyway for those of you who haven't been following this story 16-year-old Heather Trujillo and her boyfriend, 17-year-old Lamar Roberts, were accused of killing Trujillo's half sister Zoe Garcia.
The pair were babysitting Zoe when they allegedly beat and kicked Garcia until she died supposedly imitating the game Mortal Kombat. My contention is that the game didn't make them do it and that they were just violent creatures bent on destruction. If it wasn't MK that they were imitating it could have been a movie or a TV show. I don't think the medium would have mattered.
Anyway Heather Trujillo escaped jail time at sentencing yesterday. She was sentenced to an18-year-suspended sentence which means if she violates the terms of her plea she'll be sent to state prison for the remainder of the 18 years.
No trial date has been set for Roberts yet.

El Dorado Man Charged With Sex Trafficking:
23-year-old Rishi Sanwal was arrested on Monday on charges of sex trafficking. Sanwal was allegedly prostituting a missing teen from El Dorado Hills, California. After the teen disappeared she called a friend. Police were able to use the caller ID to trace the number back to some hooker ads placed on craigslist.
Undercover cops set up a meeting and were able to rescue the teen and arrest Sanwal.
So a teenage girl being held against her will and prostituted couldn't possibly be considered a victim could she?

Baby Cut From Womb of Murdered Washington Woman, Police Say:

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Police said a pregnant woman was killed after being stabbed multiple times in the chest and her nearly full-term baby was cut from her womb. A 23-year-old woman has been arrested.
Court documents said 27-year-old Araceli Camacho Gomez, of Pasco, had her hands and feet bound with yarn and suffered "massive trauma to her stomach area" late Friday night. An autopsy showed she died of the chest wounds, but had other wounds "consistent with the cutting of the body to remove an unborn child."
A Kennewick woman, Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong, has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder and is accused of trying to pass the infant boy off as her own in calls made late Friday night to emergency dispatchers.
Court documents say gloves soaked in blood, a boxcutter, bloody paper towels, yarn, baby bottle and baby socks were among some of the items found in Sisouvanh Synhavong's purse.
Just because you're too stupid, ugly, or crazy to have your own baby it doesn't give you the right to kill somebody and take theirs.
One point for the murder, another point for taking someone else's baby, one more point for butchering the poor victim the way you did, and one last point for being a crazy bitch. That's four.

Bolingbrook men plead not guilty to juvenile pimping charge:
While we're on the subject of child prostitution, because we were, comes this story from Downers Grove, Illinois.
Downers Grove police arrested 20-year-old Brandon Spain and 22-year-old Ivan Atilano on charges of juvenile pimping. The pair were arrested on June 2nd during a craigslist hooker sting in which police found out that the two of them collected money from a 16-year-old girl that they were allegedly prostituting.
The girl was a runaway they were harboring. I'm sure there's no way that she can be considered a victim right?
