Anyone remember the Pac Man game from the 1980's? Well, there's now a place in Second Life you can play it in 3-D - the Gamezone in the Intonit sim (63, 134, 31).To play the game, you find the packpack on the table next to the maze near the teleport entry, right-click on it and "buy" it for 0 L$, then wear it (or drag it onto yourself), click on the spot on the wall that teleports you into the maze, then click on the backpack and chose either single or double player and difficulty, and the game is on.The object of the game, run over all the dots before the timer runs out and the blue ghosts get you three times. If either happens, your avatar is thrown up in the air, screaming, and plummets back down. The first game starts with three ghosts, going up to five in Level 2. Unlike the orginal game from the video arcades, there is no way to turn the tables to stop the monsters. But you can jump over them, as well as walls.The maze seems to be given mild changes once in a while. When I first came across it, the maze had pellets that looked like chocolate candies. Later, they looked like flower blossoms.And when you're done, your score is checked to see if its among the top for the day, and for the best ever.And before you know it, you'll be humming "Pac Man Fever."Bixyl Shuftan

At the urging of the Lindens I decided to see the new regions at Bay City. I took the advised route through Cape Haven and flew south for a while. Eventually I began to see land that looked appealing. I arrived at the municipal lands owned by Governor Linden. Highway 66 went right by. I saw a trolley station and stood for a while waiting but was unsure if it would arrive so flew off to explore. I landed at a place that looked interesting.A bowling alley!!!!! Free bowling in 5 lanes!! Such fun!! And a delightful building to Visit with cute chairs to sit in if you just want a soda or to listen to the jukebox.I finally saw a trolley go by and tried to catch it but no luck! I moved into a near by park with an interesting sculpture that I think may be of the solar system but am not sure.Underneath I met some interesting avatars also exploring. One was some sort of transformer I think, that kept juggling balls around his (or her) base to form what looked like molecules. Amazing! Another was a cute tiny squirrel who kept trying to sit on the avatar but of course could not!!I heard a loud sound and saw a huge helicopter flying over which landed in at field. I walked over to look . Well It was an avatar!! A transformer who told me he could not transform!!! He ended face down in the field but finally took off again.Flying off after missing the trolley again I found a wonderful looking building that turned out to be the sanitation system for the region. I like shopping in SL. And I like shopping in pretty places. My upbringing actually makes the latter a necessity because when I wander around clothes shops my mother’s voice is forever in my ear saying, “You could make that…that’s a lot of money for a simple design.” Even the fact that I possess the SL clothes designing skills of a chimpanzee fails to drown out this voice so I am a browser rather than a wild spender. So if I arrive at a mall to discover that it’s yet another rather soulless corner of this world, I won’t linger. Who needs to shop that badly? I need to be wooed into splashing the cash and, like any romantic venue the place has got to have some ambience. So here’s my tip for this week: Rue d’Antibes. I found it by accident because I needed some riviera romance and, boy, have I found it here. Tree-lined pedestrian boulevards and promenades lead the eye to stucco-fronted stores. There are benches and café tables for taking the weight off one’s heels and when I arrived yesterday there was a fabulous stream of French music playing.“What about the stores, Cortes?” I hear you cry. Well for starters there's Anti Cute, Indyra Originals, Blooberry. Ingenue, Funk, Mimikiri, Digit Darkes Pixeldolls…actually there are far too many stores to give credit. Many of the stores have a great European boutique feel to them, making this avi feel a million dollars as she browsed. I was so relaxed I even parted with Lindens ...

If you have ever visited the TK Island sim, then you have probably visited Club TK. For those of you who don’t already know, Club TK is one of the hottest clubs in Second Life®. Filled with great people and fun hosts this is definitely the place to be.Frequent Club TK visitors may also know of “Battle of the DJs”. This is a great 5- 6 hour long event where DJs spin their best sets for bragging rights and a 15,000L$ prize.Second Life’s best come out for this event.The way it works is for one hour DJs play music but most importantly they are to keep you hyped up and excited. The DJ who can best accomplish this is deemed the winner.The best part is…you are the final judge. After each DJ has had their turn, you as a club visitor, will get to decide who takes home the prize.This is the final “Battle of the DJs” event.It is expected that some of the past winner will be performing. Today, Linden Lab announced that the new land store is open for business!This new feature has been announced for a long time already, and had to be postponed weeks ago. There has been much debate about the new reduced pricing that was announced at the same time as the new land store. Through the land store, only complete sims/regions can be bought (normal or openspace), not smaller parcels.Through the history of announcements of this new land store, residents have been bounced back and forth between happiness and sorrow, because of the way that Linden Lab has handled these changes. First they announced the new land store, then they took the old land store offline, then they announced that the introduction of it was postponed, and after that they re-opened the old land store with the new prices. And now D-day is finally there it seems. But ...They say it is in beta-phase (still testing), which seems to be understandable. The old land store was in beta-phase for years without ever changing. However, you need to submit a support ticket to be granted access to the land store. And even worse: you have to promise to buy land, before access is granted! You have to activate a tick box on the support ticket page which says:The problem with is that even though you can actually submit the ticket without activating that tick box, it is unclear if access will be granted if it isn't activated. And what would happen if I would promise to buy a new region, but not do it? And no time-frame...

The Tranquil Art Museum welcomes the Quilters in SL Stitching Up Spring Quilt Show! The Grand Opening of the show will be held on Thursday, May 8, 3 PM PDT at the Tranquil Art Museum and Commons. Phoe Nix, Sl's newest jazz and blues chanteuse will perform to welcome visitors to the show.There are 18 quilts featured in the show and it is open to additions by sending an uploaded picture with full perms to Brianna Beresford. The show will run through the end of May and is being held on the lawn of the Tranquil Art Museum which features Kuna Indian Molas as a permanent exhibitA quilt dedicated to Relay for Life is going to be created while the quilt show is at the Museum. There are 25 quilt squares waiting for SL artisans to submit their square for the quilt. Some of you know about Sean Voss's Second Life Tours group, which once a week went to places in Second Life which got his attention from being unusually detailed, interactive, thought-provoking, or just plain odd. They have been a source of some of my "Explore" articles. I found them to be quite fun and enjoyable.But on Monday, May 5th 2008, I got this notecard from him:*****My beloved tour group! Apologies for not getting a notice out to you earlier today. Spidey told me lots came by for the tour and she had to deliver the bad news. Due to an over active first life with work I'm not able to login to SL much these days. The ongoing technical problems have also been a major issue as well.So I need to take a break for a few months and hope to return again then. I'm hoping you are able to stay in this group and join us again in the future. The tours have always been a great pleasure for me and want to thank anyone who has come along for one. I'll send a notice if anything changes and a tour is upcoming and when possible forward on any new landmarks that come my way.Thanks again.*****I'll miss your tours Sean.
